Schlitzer Lands First Pro Deal, Signs with Surrey Scorchers (England)


PHILADELPHIA – Nick Schlitzer (6-6, SG, Pennsylvania, United States) is a former Philadelphia University guard. He has already been crowned as the ‘Most Valuable Player of the  2015 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship,

According to the recent announcement of Surrey Scorchers, Nick Schlitzer has signed a professional contract to play British Basketball League.

At the age of 22, he has scored 1,707 career points in four years, making him while playing for Philadelphia University Rams – CACC Champions.

At the iBall Pro Combine, Nick showcased his skills as a crafty scorer with superior 3-point shooting ability and a quick release. Also displaying a high basketball I.Q., Schlitzer was named 2nd Team All-iBall Pro Combine.

In 2013-14:

Nick appeared in 26 games (19 times as a starter). Gained 8.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. With 0.315%, he quickly became the 2nd ‘Best Three-Pointer Shooter’ in the Rams. He scored 21 points against UMass-Lowell on 18th November and Bloomfield on 2nd February. Here are some stats:

  • Played career-high three shots at Chestnut Hill on 12th January
  • Scored 18 points against Wilmington (Del.) on 12th February
  • Recorded 12 points and a career-high 14 rebounds while playing against Dominican (N.Y.) on 14th February.
  • Before joining the Philadelphia University Rams, he started as a junior in Pottsville playing for MVP, All League/All-Area with the highest leading score of 1,884 points.

In 2011-12:

Nick was twice named as the CACC ‘Rookie of the Week’. He also led the team (3rd position in CACC) in three-point field goal percentage 0.450%. He gradually made his mark by getting placed in the 4th position in the CACC with 68 three-point field goals. Here are some stats:

  • Had an average of 14.4 points per game (16th in CACC)
  • Became 2nd in the team (14th in CACC) having field goal percentage of 0.486%
  • Promoted 3rd in CACC having free-throw percentage of 0.880%
  • Became 4th in the team with 139 of total rebounds ~ averaging 4.8/ game
  • Starts assisting with 57 and steals with 15.
