Ronald Taylor Claims MVP of 2015 iBall FOCUS – Maryland

Ronald Taylor (6ft 3in, 225 lbs / 191 cm, 102 kg, PG / SG, Philadelphia, PA) has been named the Most Valuable Player of the 2015 iBall FOCUS -Maryland.   On Sunday, November 8th, in Takoma Park, MD, Taylor displayed a wide range of professional level offensive and defensive basketball skills.

One scout commented saying, “I love this guy! He makes it look too easy.”  After a number of discussions, Taylor’s dominance in all aspects of drills, game play, all-star competition, and off-the-court demeanor, gave him the nod over the other very talented players to claim the iBall FOCUS MVP.

Ronald Taylor is an all-around dominant player who can do it all– both offensively and defensively. Ronald possesses the ability to attack and score from virtually any spot on the floor. He can finish at the rim, or stop and pull up to knock down the mid-range or 3-point shot. Ronald possesses excellent court vision and the ability to make good decisions in tough situations. He is also very active on the offensive boards.   Defensively, Ronald is a solid on ball defender with the ability to lock down other scorers.

Taylor is currently in a high level of physical condition.  For the duration of iBall FOCUS, he made hustle plays and excelled in the fast break, showing no signs of fatigue over the course of a 5- hour camp which featured training by former NBA Champion John Celestand (All-State Basketball), Terrell Stokes (former University of Maryland), Coach Eric Cantrell (iBall Director), Coach Ericka Blackwell, and Team Owner, Brian Salter of the Atlantic Coast Crusaders a Delaware-based Semi-Professional basketball team which plays in the EBL.

“Ronald works hard on both ends of the floor during every play. He is a tough gritty player who brings a contagious energy to the floor and his team,” commented multi-year international pro, and iBall Director of Scouting, Crista Ricketts.

Ronald has experience playing at the professional level, playing in the Switzerland LNA League.  Taylor averaged more than 10 points per game for Starwings Basket Regio Basel of Basel, Switzerland.

Before taking his game to Europe, Taylor attended Oklahoma City University where he studied criminal justice and won back-to-back national championships at the NAIA Division 1 level in 2007 and 2008.

Prior to playing for the OCU Stars, Taylor attended Monroe College, a JUCO in the Bronx, New York.  At Monroe, Taylor earned 2005 Freshman of the year, Defensive Player of the Year in 2005 & 2006.  Taylor averaged 17 points, five rebounds, eight assists and five steals at Williamsport Area High School (Pa.) where he was coached by Allen Taylor. He was named defensive player of the year, was a member of the all-district and all-star teams, and  finished third in state in high jump as a senior.
