Demetrice Jacobs Claims Men’s MVP of 2017 iBall Pro Combine

POTTSTOWN, PA – Demetrice Jacobs, has been named the Men’s Most Valuable Player of the 2017  iBall Pro Combine.

PG SG, 6ft 5in / 195.6cm,  195lbs / 88.4kg, New York, NY

Scouting Outlook

Demetrice Jacobs is a floor general that excels in every facet of the game.   Standing 6’5″ / 196 cm, Jacobs is able to see, shoot over, and physically overpower smaller guards. Jacobs also excels in the open court, making sharp passes to teammates for easy layups or finishing fast breaks above the rim,  through contact, and with an emphatic dunk.

Jacobs has great body control and uses wide and strong shoulders to create space and protect the ball when attacking the basket.  He uses a great change of pace and reads the pick and roll very well, using the screen to attack the basket.   When the defender goes under the screen, Jacobs reads well to knock down the three point shot.  A lefty, Jacobs can also catch and shoot quickly and effectively, with consistent mechanics and range beyond 23 feet.

As a defender, Jacobs is great on and off the ball.  His long arms create havoc in the passing lanes and swift lateral movement and strong upper body help him stop penetration and deflect and steal balls from the dribble of opposing guards.  Jacobs’ timing, strength, leaping ability, and commitment to defense also make him a superior shot-blocker.

Combine Stats

Leading his team to the 2017 iBall Pro Combine tournament championship, Jacobs finished top 5 in four statistical categories.  His 7.5 rebounds per game was 2nd overall and while averaging 16 points per game (5th overall), he also ranked 3rd overall in assists with 3.8 assists per game.    A dedicated shot-blocker, Jacobs outpaced all guards and ranked 4th overall with 1.3 blocks per game.

Jacobs ranked 10th overall in vertical jump, logging a score of 28.5″, according to stats by Maxout. His lateral multi-directional movement (6.67 seconds) and lane shuttle  (3.84 seconds) ranked 16th and 15th overall.
