POTTSTOWN,PA – Desi Washington (PG, 6ft 2in / 188cm 190lbs / 86.1kg ) and Shaquilla Curtis (SG, SF 5ft 9 in / 175.3cm 140lbs / 63.5kg ) have been named the Men’s and Women’s Most Valuable Players of the 2016 iBall National Pro Combine, respectively.

Desi Washington displays ankle breaking ball-handling skills and deep shooting range with a quick stroke, clean shooting motion and sharp release. Washington is a floor general that is a scoring threat at all times with the ability to score from all positions on the floor. His moves are quick and concise and when driving to the basket, he does not shy away from contact. iBall scout Greg Alessandroni noted that “(Washington) has great court vision, always making teammates better, has a great attitude and always wants to win….when he decides he is going to score – he will score.”
Washington led all combine players with 22.3 points per game, scoring a combine-high 26 points on two occasions, one of which included the All-Star game, where he led his team to the win. Washington also led all players with 5.3 assists per game and was 9th in rebounding with 6.0 per game. In athletic tests, Washington ranked 8th in lateral lane shuttle according to stats by MaxOut.

Washington recently starred for Ohud-MedinaLeague in the Saudi Premier League averaging 20 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals per game respectively.
At St. Peters University (NCAA D1), Washington was a 1,000-point scorer and was featured on Sportscenter twice with a buzzer-beater shot with 1.4 seconds left in overtime against Fairfield. His career-high was 34 points, including the decisive basket with 3.3 seconds left against Seton Hall.
Washington was a three time Big 15 selection in high school and was named First Team All-Conference twice, scoring over 1,300 points. Washington played AAU with the York Ballers.
Shaquilla Curtis – SG SF, 5ft 9 in / 175.3cm, 140lbs / 63.5kg
Shaquilla Curtis impressed scouts with the most dominant and complete all-around game. Spanish coach Guillermo Arenas commented, “Her first step is ‘impressionante.'” Curtis uses her length and athleticism on both ends of the floor. Curtis’ physicality, workmanship, and attitude allow her to be a superior defender. After coaching her in the All-star game, iBall Scout Alessandroni commented, “She never takes a play off, has a fantastic attitude, and her amazing attitude makes her extremely coachable.”
Curtis was the #1-ranked athlete according to stats by MaxOut. She led all players in both lateral lane shuttle (3.73 seconds) and multi-directional movement (6.71 seconds). Curtis also ranked 2nd in vertical jump logging a high of 25.5″.
Curtis is a solid rebounder at the guard position and ranked 2nd overall in rebounds with 7.6 per game. She ranked 4th in scoring (12.0 ppg) and tied for a game-high 13 points in the All-star game. In the combine semi-final, Curtis logged an impressive double-double, with 17 points and 13 rebounds.
Athletic Tests Stats
At American University, Curtis led her team to the 2015 Patriot League Championship, being named the 2015 Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year and earning a berth to the 2015 NCAA Tournament. Curtis averaged just under 8 points per game and shot better than 42% from 3-point range.
Curtis attended Archbishop Spalding High School in Maryland.
