Antuan Bootle Claims MVP of 2016 Men’s iBall FOCUS Pennsylvania

Antuan Bootle (6ft 8in / 203.2cm 225lbs / 102.0kg , Freeport, Grand Bahama, Bahamas, Conotou) has been named Most Valuable Player of the 2016 iBall FOCUS Combine Pennsylvania which took place on Sunday, November 20th, in King of Prussia, PA.

Bootle not only outshined competitors during gameplay, he also displayed highly polished professional skills during the skills performance rotation.  Bootle was a top 3 selection in all skills assessment sessions offered at iBall FOCUS.   The sessions included a defensive footwork and reads drill, directed by Jeff Sparrow, AKA The ‘Doctor of Defense,’ shooting proficiency led by Crista Ricketts, a LaSalle University Hall of Famer and former 7-Year Professional Player, a 3-on-3 read and react drill led by iBall Agency Advisor, James Brant, and a ball-handling intensive drill led by Alvernia University Hall of Famee and former Harlem Globetrotter, Cornel Merricks.


Antuan Bootle is a strong, versatile forward with an outstanding work ethic and attitude.  His 6-8 frame and solid footwork and body control give him the ability to score inside, preferably with a right jump hook.   Bootle’s superb ball-handling skills give him the ability to break players down off the dribble, often utilizing a crossover or step-back dribble to shoot effectively from 15-22 feet.     He can also attack the basket off the dribble and utilize his strength and body control to draw contact and finish big plays.

Defensively, Bootle fights had for position in the post, often reading errant passes and creating deflections and steals.  Bootle is not only unselfish on the offensive end, but he also gives it up on defense as well, taking charges and rotating in key positions to put his body in position to disrupt the offense.  Bootle is also a very good shot-blocker.

Equally impressive is Bootle’s attitude.  Training staff commented on his coachability and passion for speaking in positive terms with his teammates, the referees, and his opponents.  Other iBall staff also commented on his thoughtfulness, kindness and attention to detail.

“Before and during the combine, Bootle was impressive with his adherence to both verbal and written instruction and also inquired for further understanding when necessary. Coupled with is passion and positive attitude, iBall recognizes these as signs of a professional that will be independent, responsible, and influential in gaining the respect and support of leadership from teams anywhere on the globe.  We have found these traits to correlate with players having a long career and take them very seriously when considering our MVP and top player combine selections,” explains iBall CEO Howard Brown.


Antuan has experience playing at the International professional level including stints in Mexico, Bolivia and Uruguay where he averaged 18.3ppg and led the league in rebounding with an average of 13.8rpg. 

Before taking his game to the professional level, Antuan played four years at Sam Houston State University (NCAA D1) where he helped the team to three Southland Conference West Division Regular Season Championships (09, 10, 11) and a Southland Conference Tournament Championship in 2010.
